KICK OFF MEMORIAL DAY WITH SHORTS AND TANKSMAY 22ND, 2013
Ok quick history lesson, so you know why your tanks are so aptly titled: the name derives from a term in the 1920’s, originally tank suits—one-piece bathing costumes worn in swimming pools and tanks. The real name for a tank top is actually an A-shirt, short for athletic shirt. While they’re obviously ideal for exercise, tanks aren’t just for the gym (really though, stop wearing them in gyms altogether—men in tanks are the brunt of gym jokes from both genders . . . just an FYI). They’re perfect for warm summer days in the park, at the beach, or wherever you venture out this Memorial Day weekend. Shorts, naturally, are the perfect companions for your sleeveless, showy shirts. Together they come as close as you can get to being indisposed, while still fulfilling societies rules of decency. In terms of style, try to keep one part muted, the other a bit wild i.e. solid colors on one end, fun patterns on the other. It’s a basic rule for balance; though if there’s a party pending, get crazy. At the very worst you’ll be the most comfortable guy in the crowd, albeit a bit ostentatious. Either way, drop some bank on shorts and tanks . . . Ajent approved for the months ahead.
